I boot up, load everybody’s favorite messenger, gaim, when all hell breaks loose. I get a friendly message from M$.

(15:34:25) messenger@microsoft.com has closed the conversation window.
In other words, please reboot to our OS and install our client, as part of our Trustworthy Computing initiative. They wish.

Yep. A friend of mine who hadn’t updated to the new MSN (6.x is it?) was telling me she kept getting it at regular intervals.
