Horrifying. I cannot believe that people deliberately CHOOSE to be…that…way. I can’t even find the right word for it.

I’m fairly certain there is no choice involved here. I think it’s just their ignorance[1] coupled with the hateful fabrications of “socially-conservative” talk radio: They’ve been told over and over that the other guy with a funny name is evil and his ascension to the presidency will be nothing but devastating. In fact, they look like they’re scared and seem to be behaving in a sort of mob panic rather than anything else.
[1] General lack of awareness, actually. Which is fine in itself, until it is exploited like this.
